The OTASL download may take up to 20 minutes depending on network conditions. Software upgrade may take up to 2 hours. Normal use of the device will be unavailable during these times.

If downloading the software upgrade over the air while traveling outside the National Enhanced Services Coverage Area and do not have an unlimited monthly kilobyte allowance, any kilobytes sent or received during the download will deduct from monthly kilobyte allowance or be charged at the appropriate per-kilobyte rate.

The device must be charged to more than 50% of capacity or plugged into the charger to complete the OTASL.

1. From the Home screen, press the Menu button.
   
2. Select Wireless Update.
   If no Wireless Update icon is present, go to User Initiated OTASL.
   
3. Select Next.
   
4. Select Check for Upgrades.
   
5. Select the available software upgrade.
   
6. If prompted, select Next.
   
7. If prompted, select Yes.
   If the device is charged less than 50% of capacity and no charger is available, discontinue OTASL or schedule for a later time.
8. If prompted, enter the password, select the return key.
9. Select Start Download.
   
10. Select Upgrade Now.
    
11. Select Upgrade Now.
    
12. Select OK.

1. From the Home screen, press the Menu button.
   
2. Select Options.
   
3. Select Advanced Options.
   
4. Select Wireless Upgrade.
   If Wireless Upgrade option does not appear, refer to BlackBerry article #KB17007 for further assistance.
   
5. Proceed to Step 3 of the network pushed OTASL instructions.

Schedule OTASL at a later time

1. Select Schedule Upgrade.
   
2. Enter a start time and a start date, select Save.
   If desired, select Confirm before starting.
   
3. Press the End key.
